Dermot operates VPN operations within the First Line Group

Century Internet (Nasdaq: VNET) announced today that it has reached a definitive agreement to acquire all shares of Dermot Holdings Limited and its subsidiaries from First Line Group. Dermot operates VPN operations within the First Line Group, including Diyixian.com Limited and Shenzhen First Line Communications Limited.

First Line Group was founded in 1999 and is currently the leading provider of VPN services in Greater China. Through Dermot, First Line Group's current network connections cover more than 700 cities in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Vietnam and Singapore. Through this acquisition, 21Vianet will expand its data transmission infrastructure throughout Greater China and provide high-performance VPN connectivity solutions to further strengthen China's market-leading position as an overall Internet infrastructure service provider.

The deal still needs to meet certain completion conditions. The total amount of the transaction was not disclosed, and 21Vianet will pay in cash and stock, and the specific cash and stock numbers will be adjusted according to some performance indicators. After the acquisition, Dermot management will remain in office and will actively participate in the day-to-day management of Dermot over the next two years. The transaction is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2014. (Viking)
